Our Story
Thief started with a simple observation: the best hours of the day — the slow morning with a good cup, the easy evening with a well-made drink — deserve their own space. Not a coffee shop that occasionally serves alcohol, and not a bar that pretends to care about beans. A place that takes both seriously.
We opened on Ludlow Street in the Lower East Side with a menu that changes with the seasons and a team that remembers regulars by name. Our espresso is sourced from farms we've visited. Our cocktails use shrubs and bitters made in-house. Everything is built to be done slowly, done well.
The space is intentionally light — white oak, pale mint walls, plenty of room to spread out. Whether you're working, reading, or meeting a friend, we want you to stay as long as you like.
The Space
White oak counters, mint-painted walls, and floor-to-ceiling windows on Ludlow Street. The kind of room that makes you want to stay a while.
